The Manu National Park protects a great diversity of fauna and flora in the Amazon rainforest of Peru. Located in the regions of Madre de Dios and Cusco, Manu National Park is one of the most biodiverse parks in the world and has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The park is home to a wide variety of ecosystems, ranging from tropical forests to high mountains, giving rise to an incredible diversity of plant and animal species. It is estimated that around 1,000 species of birds, 200 species of mammals, 100 species of reptiles and an immense variety of insects and plants live in the Manu National Park. Among the most notable animals that can be found in the park are the jaguar, the giant anteater, the tapir, the spider monkey and a wide variety of parrots and toucans.
