Question (En)
When did Black people gain the right to vote in Latin American countries?
Answer (En)
Most Latin American countries granted Black people voting rights in the 19th or early 20th century after slavery was abolished. Haiti (1804) and Brazil (1888) were among the earliest. Cuba (1901) and Colombia (1853) followed. However, racial barriers and discriminatory policies often suppressed Black political participation for decades.
