Question (En)
What languages are spoken in Guatemala?
Answer (En)
The official language of Guatemala is Spanish, spoken by the majority of the population. However, Guatemala is home to a variety of Indigenous languages, with 21 recognized Mayan languages, along with Xinca and Gar&&i&&funa. Indigenous communities, particularly in rural areas, often speak their native languages. Although Spanish is the dominant language in formal settings, there is a growing movement to preserve and promote Indigenous languages and culture, especially among younger generations.
