Question (En)
What is the government like in Argentina?
Answer (En)
Argentina is a presidential federal republic, where the president acts as head of State and Government. The Executive Branch rests with the president, elected by popular vote for a four-year term, with the possibility of consecutive re-election. The National Congress, composed of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate, exercises the Legislative Power, preparing and enacting laws. The judicial system is independent and is headed by the Supreme Court of Justice. The country is organized into provinces, each with its own government and legislature, maintaining a federal relationship with the central government. Argentina has experienced significant political changes throughout its history, and its democratic system has evolved. Citizen participation is active, with regular elections that reflect a diversity of political opinions.
