Question (En)
What is the currency used in Grenada?
Answer (En)
Grenada uses the East Caribbean Dollar (XCD) as its official currency. The East Caribbean Dollar is shared by eight countries in the Eastern Caribbean, and its value is pegged to the US dollar at a fixed rate of 1 USD = 2.7 XCD. While the East Caribbean Dollar is the official currency, US dollars are widely accepted, particularly in tourist areas, hotels, and businesses catering to visitors. It***s advisable to carry local currency for daily expenses, as small shops and rural areas may not always accept US dollars. ATMs are readily available for cash withdrawals.
