Question (En)
What animals are emblematic of the Bolivian fauna?
Answer (En)
The Bolivian fauna is very diverse and has several emblematic animals. In the lowlands of the Amazon, species such as the jaguar, puma, ocelot and tapir stand out, all of them important for the ecological balance of the region. There are also monkeys such as the spider monkey, the howler monkey and the marmoset monkey, as well as a wide variety of birds, including macaws, toucans, and the emblematic Andean condor, national symbol of Bolivia and one of the largest birds in the world. In the highest regions of the Andes, you can find animals such as the vicu&&n&&a, a species of camelid whose wool is highly prized; the Andean condor, symbol of the Andes; and the taruca, a type of Andean deer. In addition, the lakes and rivers of Bolivia are home to species such as the pink dolphin, unique in its species and in danger of extinction, and a variety of tropical fish. These are just a few examples of the rich biodiversity that can be found in Bolivia, making the country an incredible destination for nature and wildlife lovers.
