Puerto Rico has a rich history that is reflected in its many historical places outside of San Juan that are worth visiting. One of these places is Castillo San Felipe del Morro in Old San Juan, an impressive fort built in the 16th century to protect the city from maritime attacks. Another important historical site is Castillo San Crist&&o&&bal, also in Old San Juan, which is one of the largest forts built by the Spanish in the Americas. In the city of Ponce, you can visit Casa Armstrong-Poventud, a neoclassical mansion that now houses the Museum of Puerto Rican Music, where you can learn about the history of music on the island.
