Question (En)
What is the typical gastronomy of Paraguay?
Answer (En)
The gastronomy of Paraguay reflects the cultural diversity and traditions of the country. One of the most emblematic dishes is the Paraguayan soup, which despite its name is not a soup, but a corn and cheese cake, very popular on special occasions. Another typical delicacy is chip&&a&&, a cheese bread made with cassava starch and cheese, which is consumed as an appetizer or accompaniment. Mbeju is another traditional dish, similar to a cassava and cheese omelette, very tasty and easy to find on the streets of Paraguay. Additionally, locro, a stew of corn, meat and vegetables, is a comfort food and very popular in the country. Other typical Paraguayan dishes include fish soup, vori vori (a soup with corn balls and cheese) and bean stew, among others. Paraguayan gastronomy is rich in flavors and traditions, and reflects the influence of indigenous and Spanish cultures in the country.
