Donald Trump has stepped up his criticism of his Democratic rival Kamala Harris' immigration policy, describing the United States as “a garbage can” because of her approach to the issue. With the November 5 presidential election just days away, the race has become more tense, with both candidates hardening their rhetoric. In Arizona, one of the decisive states, Trump led a rally in which he lashed out at Harris and her immigration policy, claiming that she had orchestrated “the most heinous betrayal” by “eradicating our sovereign border and unleashing an army of migrant gangs waging a campaign of violence and terror against our citizens.” Kamala Harris and Donald Trump Context: Kamala Harris goes head-to-head against Donald Trump for alleged praise of Hitler: “He is unhinged and unstable” Trump said that “no person who is responsible for so much bloodshed and death on our soil can be allowed to become president of the United States.” However, he did not provide evidence to support his claims. The former president also claimed that migrants come from “181 countries” and added: “We are a dumping ground. We are like a garbage can for the world.” Addressing his supporters, Trump said it was the first time he had used the term “garbage can” to describe the United States, but defended the phrase as “a very accurate description.”
