Medellín 1. Sustainable Tourism for Peace”, Date: October 21-25, 2024 Description: Nearly 700 attendees, including academics and students from 20 countries and universities in Spain, the United States, and Latin America, will meet from October 21 to 25 in Medellín for the 27th version of the CONPEHT International Congress.

The central theme of the Congress is “Sustainable Tourism for Peace,” a commitment to the socioeconomic development of communities in the post-conflict framework.

CONPEHT is the Pan-American Confederation of Schools of Hospitality, Gastronomy, and Tourism; which brings together university institutions from 20 countries that offer programs related to these areas of the tourism industry.

The Congress that will be held at the Plaza Mayor convention center “will be the most important academic event in tourism that will be held this year in the country,” said Wilmar Mauricio Sepúlveda, Dean of Administration at the I.U Colegio Mayor de Antioquia, a higher education institution that is organizing the congress with the support of the Mayor's Office of Medellín.
