Hurricane Milton has hit the state of Florida in the southeastern United States hard.
According to authorities, the cyclone left at least 16 dead and some 2.4 million homes and businesses without electricity. Some 80,000 people had to spend the night in shelters.
Although the hurricane is already in Atlantic waters, after crossing Florida from west to east on Wednesday night, there is now concern about the flooding it has caused in much of the central part of the state.
According to forecasts from the National Hurricane Center (CNH), Milton is now heading towards Bermuda, but as a post-tropical storm.

It was the call the family of a young British climber who disappeared on Everest 100 years ago had given up hope of receiving.

Last month, a climbing team filming a National Geographic documentary stumbled across a preserved boot that was found when ice melted from a glacier.

The boot is believed to have belonged to Andrew Comyn "Sandy" Irvine, who disappeared while attempting to climb Everest in June 1924 with his partner George Mallory.

What's more, it could help solve one of the biggest mysteries in mountaineering: whether the two managed to become the first people to reach the summit of Everest, 29 years before Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay reached the summit.
